New Tooling  2022 / SCALEXTRIC
New cars in all categories
Days after having published the complete list of the novelties planned by Scalextric for this 2022, and the list of appearances of the pending cars of 2021, it is interesting to make a small review of the effort made by Hornby to offer new molds to reproduce unpublished cars to 1:32 scale.
There are representatives of almost every category, from F1 to modern classics, unexpected models and authentic must-haves.
One of the first outstanding novelties is the Williams FW11 from 1986, which will become the perfect rival for the Lotus 98T, to reproduce the Mansell – Senna duel. The C4318 Williams FW11 - 1986 British Grand Prix - Nigel Mansell will arrive this coming summer.
Continuing with the cars of the eighties, the new Rover SD1 should be highlighted, which will be marketed in two versions, C4342 Rover SD1 - Police Edition and C4299 Rover Vitesse - 1986 Donington 500KMS - Percy & Walkinshaw. The first in summer and the second in autumn.
A new Lamborghini, the Countach, that supercar from the early eighties whose poster occupied the bedrooms of teenagers at the time. Two versions are scheduled for next fall 2022. A 1983 Monaco Safety Car and another white Street car version. C4329 Lamborghini Countach - 1983 Monaco GP Safety Car, C4336 Lamborghini Countach – White.
If we go back in time we go to the 70s with the appearance of a Mini 1275GT from the BTCC of 78 (C4337 Mini 1275GT - Patrick Motorsport - Richard Longman 1979) and going back even further we go to the sixties with an expected Ford Mustang of which two versions are planned, one Alan Mann Racing and another black and white by Bill Shepherd (C4339 Ford Mustang - Alan Mann Racing - Henry Mann & Steve Soper, C4353 Ford Mustang - Bill and Fred Shepherd - Goodwood Revival). And even further back in the sixties are the new Shelby Cobra. Scalextric will present them in a 1964 Targa Florio Twin Pack and if we can consider it additional mould, a Goodwood Revival Shelby Cobra Hard Top (C4338 Shelby Cobra 289 - COB289 - Bill Shepherd , C4305A Shelby Cobra 289 - 1964 Targa Florio Twin Pack ).

The BTCC is one of Hornby's commercial weapons and for this, in addition to maintaining new versions of models already marketed, it adds a new mold, the Honda Civic Type-R FK8, which has two versions planned, C4297 Honda Civic Type R - BTCC 2021 - Gordon Shedden, C4317 Honda Civic Type R - BTCC 2021 - Jade Edwards. Gordon Shedden's will be one of the first cars of 2022 to be marketed.
Finally, another current car mold, the Porsche 911 GT3R from Sebring 2021 and from the BGTC also from last year. (C4252 Porsche 911 GT3 R - Sebring 12 hours 2021 - Pfaff Racing).
