Porsche 906 Carrera 6 TV / CARRERA
P.Frčre, R.Günzler, 1000 Km Nurburgring 1967 TV Car
In 1966 the Porsche 906 Carrera 6, chassis 108, entered the 1000 km of Nurburgring. It was his only race although he stepped on the "green hell" the following year again. But this time he did not do it during the race, but in qualifying and acting as TV camera car to offer a real image of the competition from inside the car. Driven by Paul Frčre and Rainer Günzler the car did not carry a race number, just a ZDF TV channel logo and a reproduction of the Mainzelmännchen, cartoons of the German TV network. They were the only two appearances of this Carrera 6 chassis in a circuit, and this same car was restored years later by Porsche itself to expose it, still today, in the brand Museum.
Carrera puts on sale this week this 1:24 scale model (23874) in large part of its distributors.
